'After all, the understanding
and the enjoyment of these series by David Trullo do not require the trappings
of this operating system, as they are based on and project from the realm
of the rawest poetry: the one that comes from the street. It is not a coincidence
that the saints who triumph and suffer in these photographic niches are so
close to our contemporary ragazzi di vita: young workers, security guards,
bricklayers, waiters and so on, placed next to bodybuilders reflected in bathroom
mirrors, some uptown girl, some ground-down girl… visibly emanating from the
illustrations of saints, urban tribes and heavy-metal bands. This is what
life is like.'
